Current Project in the Williams Group - I chose to work on the total synthesis of Okaramine B. Isolated from cultures of Penicillium simplicissimum AK-40 on okara (the insoluble residue of whole soybean). It contains an unprecedented azetidine ring in the natural product. Three of the Okaramines have been completed, but none contain the azetidine ring. B.S from the University of Akron (Akron, Ohio) Under Graduate Research: -The Hu Group (Dr. Jun Hu) Total synthesis of 7-Diazomethylcarbonyl-2,4,9- trithiaadmantane (Langmiur 2004,20,4933-8) -Closure Medical Corporation R&D of Dermabond (Glue Stitches) -Adding a healing agent to the glue Free Time Activities: Race bicycles. Camping, hiking and climbing. Just hanging out with my wife and friends.
